Joseph Yoo (b. 2006) is a composer based in Los Angeles whose work explores philosophical inquiries on biological phenomena. He has studied composition with Andrew Norman and Daniel Allas through the Los Angeles Philharmonic Composer Fellowship Program in the 2024-2025 season. His compositions have been performed by the USC Thornton Symphony as well musicians of the LA Phil, Sunset Chamberfest, and UC Berkeley Department of Music, among others. Alongside music composition, Joseph actively performs the flute, having joined the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America (NYO-USA) in the 2024 season. Currently, he is pursuing a double major in Molecular & Cell Biology and Music at the University of California, Berkeley.
